Scripture is not merely read.

In the Acts of the Apostles, a man reads the prophet Isaiah and does not understand.
Philip is sent to him.
Beginning from that Scripture, he opens Christ to him.
The Philip Papers continue this same work:
These writings are not explanations of Scripture.
They are encounters with it.
Each begins with a question,
opens a passage,
and follows it until it is fulfilled in Christ.
