Lord, I cannot Hide.

A Quartet of Crisis
The encounter with Christ does not begin by affirming us. It begins by revealing us.
In these four papers, the reader follows the journey from fear to hiding, from hiding to shame, and from shame to self-justification. Together they form the second movement of The Road to Rome.
These reflections explore the questions that arise when God’s light falls upon the human heart:
- Why am I afraid of Him?
- Why do I hide?
- Who told me I was naked?
- Why do I justify myself?
The Crisis is not the end of the journey. It is the moment when the truth is finally seen.
Only then can grace begin its work.
